Ter-Petrosyan Should Have Spoken More Clearly on NKR Issue: Heritage

Armenia’s three presidents have never used their right; they have been the continuation of each other in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue; during the first few years, they were in the same team, said Heritage Party Chair Raffi Hovannisian while speaking to journalists today.

Asked why the Heritage Party has supported Levon Ter-Petrosyan, if, according to the party, the issue of recognizing NKR’s independence has been delayed for 19 years, Hovannisian advised the inquirer not to personalize the party’s critique.

“But yes, I believe that the main 2008 opposition candidate, the first president, should have spoken more clearly in national issues, regarding the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh,” said the MP. 

“And after that, and I have said this to him directly, he should present to the public his reformed approaches. If he was coming to correct past mistakes, likewise he should have presented his perspective on national issues much more clearly,” concluded Hovannisian.
