Council of Europe Forum Participants Spoke with Opposition Demonstrators

A few participants from the Council of Europe Forum on the Future of Democracy came out of the Government Guest House and asked questions of the activists gathered near the building.

Among them were delegates from the UK, Lithuania, Finland and Belgium. Speaking with the delegates at this time is Melissa Brown, the wife of Armenia’s former foreign minister Alexander Arzumanyan.

As reported earlier, police officers denied protestors from handing out information packages to the delegates that contained a list of political prisoners in Armenia; a short film on the events of March 1, 2008; and a number of documents outlining human rights violations in Armenia.

Note that just a little while ago, a group of people from Gyumri carrying flags approached the protestors.
