Former US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice, on stage at the McCall Middle School, spoke about her new book, “Extraordinary Ordinary People,” and answered questions about her life during a conversation with Pam Cross, anchor at WCVB-TV, in “An Evening with Condoleezza Rice,” reports the Daily Times Chronicle.
Rice first responded to questions by Cross, then accepted questions from the audience.
The final question of the evening was posed by a student who asked about the US refusal to intervene in the issue of the Armenian Genocide.
Rice explained that the Genocide occurred in 1915 by Turks, but Turkey will not recognize it.
“We promoted historian panels between Turks and Armenians,” she said, adding that there has been some movement forward. For the US to step in, she said, would be “ill advised.”
