During his visit to the districts of Fizuli and Aghdam, where apartments were given to IDPs (internally displaced persons), Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made bellicose statements.
Speaking about the recent exchange of prisoners of war (POWs) between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Aliyev said:
“I believed that we would return them and that’s what we did. We buried them as heroes, with glory and honor. Today, thousands, tens of thousands of youth are ready to sacrifice their lives at any moment for the restoration of territorial integrity.”
According to the Azerbaijani leader, they are attempting to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through negotiations.
“But this is still impossible,” he said, according to Azerbaijan’s official presidential website.
