She doesn’t need to turn back time: After a successful 45-year career, the Goddess of Pop is still going strong.
She plays a veteran performer alongside Christina Aguilera in her new flick, “Burlesque,” hit ting theaters on Wednesday. And she continues to sing in Las Vegas, according to the New York Daily News.
On staying in the spotlight:
“I feel like a bumper car. If I hit a wall, I’m backing up and going in another direction. And I’ve hit plenty of f—–g walls in my career. But I’m not stopping. I think maybe that’s my best quality: I just don’t stop.”
On working with Christina Aguilera:
“The scenes that she and I had together I really enjoyed, and I really believe that she’s got definite chops. We worked well together. I enjoyed all of it, and she was toe-to-toe with me the whole time.”
On what’s next:
“There’s the opportunity to go on a tour, and yet I’m not so sure that that’s something I want to do immediately because I’ve been working for a long time. I did like working on this film so much that I really would like to do another film.
Cher was born in California to an Armenian father and a mother of Cherokee, English and French descent. She has been singing and recording music since the early 60s.
