At the start of yesterday’s parliament session, MP Viktor Dallakyan suggested parliament discuss and approve a decision regarding Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s move to stage a hunger strike in Liberty Square; however, the ruling coalition was unable to decide whether to urge Hovannisian to stop his hunger strike or not, reports local daily Hraparak.
“Also, go visit him or abstain? [National Assembly Chair] Hovik Abrahamyan explained this by saying that the Rule of Law [Orinats Yerkir, OEK] representative was absent. The discussion will take place today. As for the issue of placing a canopy [in Liberty Square], well Hovik Abrahamyan said, ‘In any case, I’m convinced that the police move according to the law and they have to observe the letter of the law, since that is the president’s instruction and generally everyone should act within the frames of the law,” writes the daily.
