People’s Party leader Tigran Karapetyan, meeting with journalists today, said there are some food items which can be consumed during a fast (for Lent); however, “It’s a hunger strike, not a fast,” he said, referring to Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian’s Fast for Freedom hunger strike (confusing as it sounds, these are Karapetyan’s words) in Liberty Square since Mar. 15.
“Now Raffi Hovannisian charms me as a person. In terms of masculinity and courage, this move of his justifies him,” said the People’s Party leader, while stressing at the same time that the Heritage Party parliamentary faction did not take place.
Asked by Epress.am, after his visiting and expressing solidarity with Raffi Hovannisian on Mar. 21, whether there have been meetings on cooperating with the Heritage Party in another format, Karapetyan said that it wasn’t with that expectation that he went to show his support to Hovannisian.
To an observation by Epress.am that during his speech at Liberty Square, Tigran Karapetyan called on “moving forward together,” the party leader said, “Yes, I said that all patriotic forces should join and that process is already in progress.”
