Diversity Park Opens in Stepanavan, Armenia

Full Life NGO established a "Diversity Park" in the northern Armenia town of Stepanavan yesterday. As stated in the organization's press release, participating in the initiative were the Cultural Palace named after A. Margaryan, Stepanavan's School of Art, volunteers, individuals, Vanadzor's Lori Art Development Center, Orran Center, news media outlets, as well as Stepanavan City Hall.

The park is in one of the not so vibrant residential areas of Stepanavan, which was constructed after the earthquake — in the district of Dzakhapnya. The goal is to make the neighborhood more attractive for tourists, while at the same time encouraging creative approaches, team work, and the inclusion of community inhabitants.

Joining the initiative were residents of two buildings in the neighborhood, as well as many passers-by, who created mosaic works in the Diversity Park.

The program was carried out within the scope of the CAUCULT international, intercultural project, which supports ethnic, religious and cultural diversity across the South Caucasus. CAUCULT is simultaneously implemented in Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, and coordinated through partners in Austria and Lithuania.
