Turkey’s Energy Minister Taner Yildiz says Iran and Turkey will continue plans for the joint construction of power plants and Iran’s gas delivery to Europe.
Yildiz said Wednesday that plans by Turkey and Iran for joint construction of power plants with a total capacity of 6,000 megawatts would continue, giving the two countries enough capacity to feed their own markets as well as other countries in the Middle East, Reuters reported.
He also said that a planned natural gas pipeline from the Islamic Republic to Turkey by private Turkish company SOM Petrol will be used to supply European gas markets as well as Turkey’s demands.
In addition, the official has announced that the government will support Turkish companies in exporting gasoline to Iran despite US unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
His remarks come as Russian oil giant LUKOIL has also resumed gasoline sales to Iran in partnership with China’s state-run firm ԺZhuhai Zhenrong.
