“Russian investment in Armenia is $2.75 billion USD,” said Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian in an interview with TV channel Russia 24.
“Russia is a very important trade and economic partner for Armenia — it’s the main investor in Armenia. Russia is also the main consumer in the Armenian market,” said the minister.
According to Nalbandian, cooperation in the energy sector is developing successfully between the two states, including in the nuclear, transport, modern technology and other areas.
“1,400 business are operating with Russian capital in Armenia today,” said Nalbandian.
Armenia’s foreign minister added there is a solid foundation between the two states — about 200 agreements and contracts have been signed.
“We’re preparing new agreements, [and] renewing the old ones. We’re going to do everything possible to broaden and develop economic relations between the two countries,” concluded the minister.
