During a debate today, former president of the RA Central Bank Bagrat Asatryan and Republican Party of Armenia MP Vardan Ayvazyan referred to the Armenian government’s anti-crisis program. Asatryan said that Armenia’s economic policy is counterproductive.
“We’ve already reached that limit where we’re facing the wall and we have no opportunity for development. The anti-crisis program… we’ve never had such a thing. At the end of the year, they’re going to paint numbers, we’ll have beautiful numbers, that don’t reflect the reality; we’ll have widespread discontent and poverty,” said Asatryan.
Unlike Asatryan, Ayvazyan was more hopeful. “If we didn’t take measures corresponding to an anti-crisis program, we could’ve add worse numbers,” he said.
According to Ayvazyan’s forecast, Armenia will experience an 8% economic increase by year’s end.
