Why do Armenian citizens prefer to vacation in Georgia? Armenian Hotel Association President Hakob Hakobyan and Union of Incoming Tour Operators of Armenia President Robert Minasyan attempted to answer this question at a press conference today.
According to Hakobyan, first of all, equal items must be compared; that is, if one wants to relax by the sea, then he will go, and in this case, there’s no connection with the quality of hotel services and the suggestions of tourist agencies.
Minasyan also said that Georgia was smarter and made large investments in advertising, which, to his regret, is not the case for Armenia.
“Have you perhaps seen any Armenian tourism ads in other countries?” he asked.
“There’s no tourism-developed country in the world where its domestic tourism isn’t of high quality. It’s also necessary to develop domestic tourism here [in Armenia]: city halls, village municipalities have to open their eyes and work toward that direction. I’m officially stating that joint work is absent in Armenia, everyone is pulling the cart towards him,” said Minasyan.
