‘Armenia-Russia Agreement Cannot Stop Azerbaijani Army’: Sabiroglu

“The Armenian Defense Minister behaves as if he’s the Russian Defense Ministry’s Department Chief,” said Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense spokesperson Eldar Sabiroglu, in response to RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan’s recent statement that Russia will ensure Armenia’s security, regardless from which side the threat will come, reports News.az, quoting ANS Press as its source. 

‘Seyran Ohanyan is now saying that any attack against Nagorno-Karabakh will be resisted. He’s already behaving as the chief of department for the Russian Defense Ministry and it seems ridiculous.

“The agreement on cooperation has been signed between the two states [Russia and Armenia] and this is their business. This protocol can neither stop nor curb the Azerbaijani army. In this case, why should Azerbaijani army restrict its capacities? We believe in these conditions Azerbaijan must provide the national army with modern types of arms,” Sabiroglu said.
