Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today met with Lars Thunell, Executive Vice President and CEO of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The two parties discussed issues related to Armenia’s economic development and cooperation with IFC in the areas of consulting and investment.
Sargsyan welcomed IFC’s activities in Armenia and its preparedness in contributing international experts to support the development of long-term prospects in Armenia’s economy.
The Armenian president particularly stressed the importance of IFC’s consulting services in the banking, energy and mining industries, improvements in the business arena, and in simplifying the government system, noting that IFC’s investment in specific business programs will be extremely useful.
Thunell, in turn, speaking on IFC expanding its activities in Armenia and its upcoming projects in the country, assured the president that the results of these projects will be visible in the near future.
