Azerbaijan’s largest university, Baku State University, is to open an Armenian research center, university spokesperson Parvana Ibrahimova has said, reports News.az.
She said the center would research topical historical and contemporary issues related to the Armenian issue, inform the Azerbaijani community about the socio-political situation in Armenia and prevent “ideological attacks by Armenia and the Armenian diaspora” against Azerbaijan and the Turkic world.
According to the spokesperson, experts, particularly those who are fluent in Armenian will conduct research and organize symposiums, conferences and other events to “denounce the aggressive character, provocative and false activity of this terrorist country and to defend the position of Azerbaijan in its fair struggle.”
“The centre will study editorials in Armenian newspapers and Internet resources and on TV (Armenian Public Television, Shant TV, US-Armenian TV, Yerkir-Media TV and so on) and make analytical reports on those editorials,” she said.
The center will launch a website, publish a “scientific journal,” and translate the analysis and place it on its side, said Ibrahimova.
