Popular Armenian singer-songwriter Ruben Hakhverdyan didn’t participate in yesterday’s Armenian Revolutionary Party–Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) rally dedicated to the 19th anniversary of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence.
Asked by journalists today if it’s true that a “black cat has come between the singer and ARF-D,” Hakhverdyan said: “It’s just that I live quite far… that’s why I didn’t participate. Otherwise, I would participate.”
Furthermore, he doesn’t understand how a “black cat can come between him and Dashnaktsutyun,” when “Dashnaktsutyun is an ideology, not a political party.”
“I am in favor of ideology, but as an individual, I can have many differences with that political party,” he said, adding that black cats are beautiful animals and can never come between him and “Dashnak views.”
