As a traditional party, the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) believes that Nagorno-Karabakh, which has been acquired by blood, cannot be given up, said party chair Lyudmila Sargsyan, while meeting with journalists today. However, she noted, that if some concessions have to be made in the name of peace, then the party won’t be against that.
Sargsyan placed great importance on the Sept. 17 Armenian National Congress (HAK) rally. In her words, the public is demanding that they provide some sort of solution to the issues.
“For 2.5 years, the domestic political situation has been flaring up day by day, and the [current] authorities didn’t do anything to extinguish [the flame]. We’ve worked for 2.5 years and developed a layer of civil society, which over time will become demanding towards the authorities,” she said.
