The Armenian Heritage Park in Boston dedicated to the immigrant experience and a memorial to Armenian Genocide victims, set to be ready in the fall, has angered Turkish- and Azerbaijani-American residents. Representatives of both diaspora groups have announced plans to hold a protest rally, reports APA news agency.
The opening ceremony of the Armenian Heritage Park will take place on Sept. 9, and will be attended by officials from Armenia and the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Garegin II (Karekin II).
The Turkish diaspora also expressed dissatisfaction that the State of Massachusetts has not removed references to the Armenian Genocide in history textbooks.
