Take 2: Armenian National Congress Requests Rally Permit from City Hall

In what seems like the never-ending story, the Armenian National Congress (HAK) once again submitted a request to Yerevan City Hall for a permit to hold a rally at Freedom (Liberty) Square — this time on Sept. 24.

As told to Epress.am by HAK representative Tigran Arakelyan, an open discussion related to the claim will be held tomorrow at 11:30 am.

As previously reported, after Yerevan City Hall denied HAK (and incidentally, the Pan-Armenian National Movement, which is a part of HAK) the right to hold a rally in Freedom Square on Sept. 17, the opposition group submitted an appeal in court, which was subsequently denied.

HAK Coordinator Levon Zurabyan has been reported as saying that HAK will periodically submit claims to Yerevan City Hall to hold a rally in Freedom Square.
