Opposition and Governing Authorities Busy Destroying Each Other in Politics: Legal Expert

Constitutional and legal expert Hrayr Tovmasyan can’t understand what country he’s living in. While speaking to journalists today, Tovmasyan made such a confession, speaking on the ongoing political struggle between the ruling authorities and the opposition. 

The legal expert said that he’s puzzled when he opens one newspaper and reads that a bright future awaits Armenia, while another paper claims that Armenia is sinking. In his words, those responsible for the country’s problems shouldn’t be only the ruling authorities, but also the opposition, who, in Tovmasyan’s words, hasn’t been able to reach its goals.

Tovmasyan also noted that in Armenia, the opposition and the government are busy destroying each other in politics, and if in the case of the opposition, these are only statements, in the case of the ruling authorities, it seems that in some way, it’s turned out.

“Our political opposition more so philosophizes: it’s either all or nothing. I don’t blame them, but nothing changes from that,” he said, also making a comparison between the work of journalists and the opposition, since, according to him, both fulfill the same functions in society.
