Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed the idea of state regulation of the internet. The Russian leader said so himself during the Global Policy Forum in Yaroslavl, reports Interfax news agency.
Medvedev noted that the Russian government is not currently engaged in the network issue: the internet lives by its own laws.
The internet and electronic news media have begun to play an important role in the life of Russians, said the president, adding that he rarely watches television.
