The recent incidents along the Nagorno-Karabakh–Azerbaijan line of contact, according to Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskandaryan, is a result of an increase in the level of blackmail from Azerbaijan.
“The level of blackmail has reached its peak. So that the amount of blackmail increases in some way, such types of incidents are necessary for Azerbaijan,” explained the analyst at a press conference today.
“More so, parliamentary elections are expected in Azerbaijan and if we’re attentive to how the situation along the Nagorno-Karabakh–Azerbaijan border is changing, it can be seen that there’s almost always a violation of ceasefire,” said Iskandaryan.
“Consolidation probably never bothered anyone,” he said.
In the analyst’s opinion, after the latest developments in Armenia-Turkey relations, such steps by Azerbaijan prove spasms or convulsions by Azerbaijan’s authorities.
