Armenian Female Artists Present their Work in Geneva

On Sept. 17, Utopiana cultural creative NGO invites the public to an encounter with the two first artists in

residence at the Résidences secondaires in Geneva.

According to a Utopiana press release, the artists, “Sona Abgaryan and Tsomak, have produced installations about their experience in Geneva. Beyond that, together with Anna Barseghian, they have undertaken a film project about three generations of female artists in Armenia from the 50s up to the present. The aim is to illuminate the political and cultural ruptures of this land in transformation.”

The event will begin at 6 pm with an installation, conversations and screenings, followed by a concert performance at 7 pm.

The Résidences secondaires program is supported by the City and the Canton of Geneva. Sona’s and Tsomak’s stay in Geneva is supported by Armenia’s Ministry of Culture.
