Crossing Georgian Border Now Will Take Just 3–4 Minutes: Minister

Georgia has announced that the entry process for tourists will be simplified. Now the process will take just 3–4 minutes, said Georgia’s Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili, reports Georgia Online.

According to the minister, this news refers first and foremost to tourists coming from neighboring states Armenia and Azerbaijan. Supervising the border will be border police and customs agents. Customs agents will be checking only trucks, while border police will be responsible for other customs issues.

Merabishvili says that this new customs process will begin at Sarpi checkpoint soon.
