Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan today met with Tina Kaidanow, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department, according to a news release on the RA president’s official website.
Sargsyan noted that the frequency of visits is important for the continuity of diverse and comprehensive Armenia-US dialogue.
According to the Armenian leader, Armenia views the high level and future broadening of relations with the US as a factor in Armenia’s economic development, as well as in establishing and strengthening peace and stability in the region.
According to the government-issued release, the parties both expressed satisfaction with Armenia-US partnership in political, educational and cultural sectors, placing importance also on the development of Armenia-US economic cooperation and the application of efforts in stimulating trade contacts.
Sargsyan and Kaidanow also discussed the negotiation process of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Armenian president highly praised American involvement in the OSCE Minsk Group.
The parties placed importance on continuing the efforts of the OSCE MInsk Group Co-Chairs, expressing hope that negotiations in that format will provide the necessary results.
