The Armenian public is convinced that opening the border with Turkey’s “isn’t behind the mountains,” said Turkologist Artak Shakaryan, while speaking with journalists today on the Armenia-Turkey Protocols.
According to him, on one hand, it’s a good thing that the Protocols didn’t have a successful end. Shakaryan expressed hope that in the coming two years, Armenians “won’t sleep and will resolve all the technical issues connected with opening the border.”
“Thanks to the Protocols, Armenian society became nationalistic. Until the next presidential elections, nationalism will prevail in certain political parties, as well as other nationalist powers will come to be,” said the Turkologist.
