“There are only updated Madrid Principles in the negotiations on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” said Azerbaijan National Independence Party leader Yusif Bagirzade.
Recall that Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s foreign minister will meet in the US next week. According to OSCE Minsk Group US Co-Chair Robert Bradtke, the co-chairs have new ideas related to resolving the conflict.
Commenting on Bradtke’s statement, Bagirzade says the US being more active in the NKR negotiation process is expected.
“I think that the implementation of the Nabucco project makes the settlement of the Karabakh problem advantageous. That’s why the US would like to see to the NKR conflict resolved,” he said.
“On the other hand, news were circulating in the press recently that the US is allegedly leaving the South Caucasus region. It’s possible that the US stimulus in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict can be explained by this,” added the party leader.
