There were no surprises whatsoever at the Sept. 17 Armenian National Congress (HAK) rally, said Heritage Party MP Armen Martirosyan at a press conference today. In his opinion, the speeches made at the rally, including Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s speech, were aimed at preparations for the 2012 parliamentary elections.
“I’ll be very happy if thanks to the Armenian National Congress, extraordinary elections take place; however, I don’t believe that such a thing will happen. Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s speech was more so analytical than revolutionary, noting some special situation,” he said, adding that there’ll be a new extraordinary situation only in the case of a force majeure, which can happen connected with the Karabakh issue, though he doesn’t consider it likely.
