The 21st day of the Armenian Premier League took place on Sept. 19. The leading team, Banants, unexpectedly lost 2 points to Shirak. In the second half, Shirak attacker Andranik Barikyan took the lead; however, 5 minutes later, Banants striker Jose Carlos Nogueira (Junior) evened out the score. The score didn’t change till the end of the match, which means that Pyunik, which defeated Kilikia, reduced the difference from the leading team and is now behind Banants just by 3 points.
Note that third place Ulysses lost to Mika, and basically, lost the opportunity to fight for the champion title. Currently, Ulysses is falling behind the leading team by 7 points. After Mika’s victory, it might be a cutting edge fight for third place. Mika is only 5 points away from Ulysses.
