On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia’s independence, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a congratulatory message to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, according to the RA president’s official website.
The message reads:
“I warmly congratulate you on the occasion of Armenia’s national holiday, Independence Day. During a recent visit to Armenia, I was convinced once again that the centuries-old traditions of Armenia-Russia friendship and good neighborly relations continue to strengthen. Our citizens are proud of the glorious pages of our common history, and shared successes and victories. An illustrative example of this was the restoration of the Hill of Honor monument, the opening of which we participated in with you. We thank the people of Armenia for being respectful in the memory of our soldiers.
“Armenia and Russia, on a solid foundation of trust and cooperation, today are building a strategic partnership, are carrying out active political dialogue, are more effectively coordinating their actions in the regional and international arena. We [made important decision as they relate to] the economy, including the innovative industries, as well as making important decisions in the promotion of joint projects in the humanitarian sector.
“I am confident that implementing these agreements will serve to future expand bilateral ties, to the benefit of our citizens, [and] in support of peace and stability in the Caucasus.
“I wish you good health and new successes, and peace and prosperity to the people of Armenia!”
