The lack of unity among Armenia’s political parties and groups negatively addresses Armenia’s tactics, said Republican Party of Armenia Deputy Chair, MP Razmik Zohrabyan, while speaking to journalists today.
“We live in a very dangerous region, surrounded by countries with which, for a century, we have always had contradictions,” he said.
According to him, if there’s unity, then there isn’t a “unified strategy” for Armenia. After a new party gets into government, it begins to make changes to the strategy.
“It can’t be like that. A normal state has one strategy. Here [in Armenia], for example, there is an opposition force in government, and then [one day] they take this security doctrine of ours and completely change it, do you understand?” asked the MP rhetorically.
That’s why, continued Zohrabyan, Armenian authorities are forced to look for strategic partners; “take for example, the contract with Russia to extend the term of its military base,” he said.
