The number of foreign tourists visiting Moscow in the first half of this year increased by 18.4% compared to the same period last year, said head of the Moscow Committee of Tourism Grigory Antyufeyev.
According to Antyufeyev, the growth in the tourism sector replenishes Moscow’s budget by 7%, creates new jobs and improves the living conditions of Muscovites.
The increase in the flow of tourists was observed from 2009. Tourists come to Moscow mainly from Germany, France, US, China, Italy and the UK.
As for neighboring states, the highest number of tourists to Moscow come from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan, reports RIA Novosti.
