Baku will Go the Yerevan Route When it Comes to Iran

Azerbaijan, unlike the US, Russia or the EU, can’t afford to accede tougher sanctions against Iran, said Azerbaijani political analyst Rasim Musabekov in an interview with 1news.az.

“The thing is, Iran is our neighbor, and we have historical ties with that country. And for that reason we won’t harm our relations with Iran. Even Armenia, which is fed by the hand of the US, Russia and EU, doesn’t want to spoil its relations with Iran. That’s why in these matters we’ll be acting purely in our national interests,” he said.
