According to the statistics they presented, the amount of exports this year are twice as much as the amount of imports. Imports have dropped 22.8% as compared to last year.

The two MPs assured that the decline in the agricultural sector has subsided (grown milder), and this will be evident during grape harvesting time.

Furthermore, there’s a decline of 2–3% in the construction sector, but a growth of 7–8% in the other sectors, they said.

The National Assembly deputies also cautioned that the inflation is quite high, 7.7%, and they’ve been unable to ease its rates thus far. However, they assured that they would do everything possible to meet the figures forecast for the end of the year.

On the topic of salaries, Minasyan said that the growth is quite obvious in this area and a growth has been registered even during the crisis years.

“Even developed EU countries cut back their developments’ implementation package. We [Armenia] took the exact opposite route, and no social programs were cut,” said Minasyan.
