Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s cousin Igor Putin has been appointed Vice-President of Master-Bank.
The bank declined to comment further on what criteria a relative of the prime minister has to be appointed to such a high post.
Igor Putin does not have much experience in the banking sector; however, since May 2007, Igor Putin has sat on the Board of Directors of AVB Bank, reports Russian paper Kommersant.
Apparently, the newly appointed vice-president is going to combine his work at AVB with Master-Bank, since the question of his resignation from the AVB board has not yet been discussed.
