Doctor of Economics, professor Tatul Manaseryan recommends to be more vigilant toward those who attempt to present everything connected to the rise in the economy as being “colorful” and those who want “to paint everything black.”
At a press conference today, Manaseryan said that in the last few months, mutually exclusive (incompatible) opinions have been expressed on the processes taking place in the economy. According to him, the National Statistical Service data over the past eight months also paints an incompatible picture. In the first five months, an economic growth of 8.8% was recorded, while in the following two months, a regress was recorded, which is a serious signal.
Specifically, Manaseryan referred to indicators in the agricultural sector and noted that from January–July, an economic growth of 23% was recorded in this sector, while a decline of 18% was recorded in August.
“I can’t justify the work of the agricultural sector. It can be said that it’s equal to zero,” he said.
The economist noted that in the wheat grain market, it’s possible to adopt such a policy that would reduce Armenia’s current dependence on the international market.
