Chair for the Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Sunday that Iran will take Russia to court if the ban on supplying C-300 missile system to Iran remains in effect, reports Iranian news agency ISNA.
“The issue can be pursued legally if Russia does not provide Iran with missile system and in such a case compensation should be paid to Iran. We hope that Russia complies with its commitments,” he said.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on Wednesday, officially prohibiting the shipment of C-300 air defence missile systems, armoured vehicles, warplanes and helicopters and warships to Iran in line with UN sanctions imposed against Iran on June 9 following Iran’s refusal to halt its nuclear program.
