On Sept. 30, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed participants to the meeting of the Heads of the CIS Control Chambers Council, who arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 10th session of the Council which began on September 29, according to the RA president’s official website.
Sargsyan said that such meetings, regular contacts and cooperation are very useful and noted that Armenia places great importance to the work of the Council and is ready to continue to actively participate in its activities in the future. According to the Armenian president, member states, which lived in the common state for a long time, have similar problems that often require analogous solutions and concerted efforts. In Sargsyan’s opinion, cooperation and experience sharing could be very useful for all parties.
“We also attach great importance to our cooperation with the European structures. It’s no secret that European audit structures have acquired huge positive experience and it can be used locally, taking into consideration, of course, our unique characteristics. We are ready to bring our active participation to the works of the European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI), including organization of its work in Yerevan,” he said.
The delegation of the heads of the Control Chambers of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Baltic States, and the President of the Audit Institutions of Europe, President of the Polish Control Chamber Jacek Jezierski conversed with the President of Armenia about the similarities and differences in the control bodies of their respective countries, current problems and possible ways to solve them through joint efforts. They praised the works of the Yerevan session of the Council which resulted in signing a number of important documents and developing programs for future cooperation.
