Issues with Georgia Resolved through Negotiations: Nalbandian

There are no issues with Georgia that Armenia can’t resolve through negotiations, said Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian, recalling that he has said this on numerous occasions. Nalbandian was speaking (in Armenian) at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart, Grigol Vashadze, in Yerevan today.

“Yesterday and today, we discussed numerous issues with Mr. Vashadze, first and foremost, relating to bilateral relations. We noted with satisfaction that trade in the last 9 months has increased by about 50%. Though the numbers aren’t that high, but the positive trend, 50%, is quite an important figure,” said the Armenian foreign minister.

Nalbandian also stressed the importance of another indicator, saying that more than 300,000 tourists from Armenia went to Georgia this year.

According to Nalbandian, the two parties also discussed issues related to transport and the energy sector.

“Of course, we discussed issues of concern to Armenians living in Georgia, as well as regional issues,” he said.
