At a meeting of the Sardarapat Movement today, member Tigran Khzmalyan said that according to information they have received, secret negotiations currently are taking place in Rome between former Armenian and Turkish high-level officials, with the aim of breathing new life into the Armenia-Turkey Protocols.
Participating in the talks are Armenia’s foreign minister and Civilitas Foundation founder Vartan Oskanian and former senior adviser on foreign policy issues to former president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Professor Gerard Libaridian.
Sardarapat Movement members asked whether Yerevan was aware of these talks and if so, then why isn’t the government they informing the public?
Khzmalyan also asked who these individuals are representing.
