On Oct. 10, 2010, 10/10/10, people will be participating in what may be the biggest day of practical action on climate change the world has ever seen, according to local NGO Bicycle+.
Currently, people have posted over 6,353 diverse events spread across the planet. Right now, there are 187 countries on board and Armenia is among them.
“Cycling is a great way to get out and be visible in our community. It also demonstrates the need for improved infrastructure for the alternative modes of transportation. Do you think you could join us for an awareness ride with your colleagues?” ask Bicycle+ organizers on their Facebook event page.
In Armenia, the NGO will be organizing a bike tour, which is set to begin on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 10:10 am. The group will leave from the Mesrob Mashtots statue in front of the Matenadaran (Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts). The group will then cycle around the city, distributing pamphlets informing residents about the effects of climate change.
