At a press conference in the ARF-D bureau office today, ARF-D (Armenian Revolutionary Federation – Dashnaktsutyun) Supreme Council member Spartak Seyranyan, Los Angeles–based daily Asbarez Armenian Editor Abo Boghikian and Beirut-based daily Aztag Editor-in-Chief Shahan Kandaharian spoke on the pan-Armenian conference with representatives from ARF-D press to take place in Yerevan Oct. 11–12.
Representatives from ARF-D media agencies from 20 countries will be participating in the conference. According to the speakers, the conference is a propaganda campaign and “it will give answers to the Azerbaijani [and] Turkish propaganda machine.”
“Having a diversity of professional means of expression no less [than Turkish or Azerbaijani media], we, in some sense, are behaving disorganized [meaning, Armenian press is not united in being a single voice against Turkish or Azerbaijani “propaganda”]. And it’s very welcoming that the Ministry of Diaspora jointly is adopting the same agenda, by holding this forum of Armenian-language and Armenian media agencies. And there’s another important issue, that present propaganda machines, methods should be quickly learned by our media and be used to pursue our nation’s objectives,” said Seyranyan.
