Euro 2012: Changes in Armenian Team as it Prepares for Match Against Andorra

Long gone are the times when there were obviously weak competitors in the international arena, said manager of Armenia’s national football team Vardan Minasyan, one day before Armenia’s Euro 2012 qualifier with Andorra.

According to Minasyan, if before the Andorra team was protected by quantity, now quality is added to that as well. The Armenian team manager noted that the upcoming match will be no less difficult than the match with Slovakia for the Armenian team. Even if the Armenian team doesn’t fare so well, Minasyan would prefer they walk away with at least 3 points.

Speaking on the team’s make-up, Minasyan noted that, compared to the game against Slovakia, they’ve had to make one change, since as a result of receiving two yellow cards, midfielder Karlen Mkrtchyan won’t be playing in the game against Andorra.

The Armenian team manager placed importance on the upcoming match, noting that their issue is not to allow the victory over Slovakia to be a one-time event. He assured that the Armenian team is seriously preparing for the Oct. 12 home game.
