Nearly 100,000 Armenian Tourists went to Adjara This Year

According to the the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara A.R. (an Autonomous Republic of Georgia), 831,578 tourists visited Adjara (also referred to as Ajaria) in January–Sept. 2010 — doubling last year’s figures. 

According to official data, 269,426 foreigners visited the region in that time period, with the largest flow coming from Turkey — 40.4% of foreign tourists to Adjara were from Turkey. Second place goes to Armenia at 35.4%, and third to Azerbaijan, at 14.7%.

According to the statistics, about 95,000 tourists went to Adjara from Armenia.
