Armenian Government Needs Poor People: Former Yerevan Mayor

Considering that the Armenian government has already presented the 2011 state budget and the National Assembly will be discussing it on Monday, I am saying in advance, there’s no need to debate or discuss anything since there’s nothing in this budget, said former Yerevan mayor Vahagn Khachatryan while speaking to journalists today.

In his opinion, the draft budget is a document that is presented just to be presented.

“If the parliamentarians say that monopolies are beneficial for the economy, then, no offense, they are kilometers away from the economy,” he said.

Asked by Epress.am what is the solution, Khachatryan said it’s necessary to change the logic of the economic system, which won’t be possible without a regime change.

“But this government won’t do such a thing. They need paupers who will vote for them during elections,” he said.
