On Saturday, Oct. 16, at 6 pm, Armenian National Congress member, formerly imprisoned for his views, Vardges Gaspari will stage an outdoor sit-in at Yerevan’s Freedom Square with the motto “1 Day with Political Prisoners.”
“I am doing that which I can’t not do: one of the main aims of the acting regime has been to paralyze the ranks, in particular, alienating political prisoners from us.
“The imprisonment of political prisoners has been public; solidarity with them must likewise be public. I am not inviting to the sit-in those who can participate; rather, I am inviting those who cannot not participate,” reads Gaspari’s statement.
