If in this situation, the RA National Assembly doesn’t accept the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence into its agenda, that means we voluntarily surrendered, said head of the Heritage Party parliamentary faction Stepan Safaryan.
“Not putting the issue to a vote and squeezing it out of the agenda is very dangerous. It’s necessary to move it from the four-day [sittings] agenda to the large agenda,” said Safaryan. Note that the Heritage Party has proposed a draft law on recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence; however, it has not yet reached the stage of a first reading in parliament.
“Pushing the issue off the agenda is dangerous as is maybe [because of] political considerations not expressing the right position during voting,” said Safaryan.
“This situation is simply the serious expression of Armenia’s independence, sovereignty, [and] autonomy,” he said.
