Another YouTube Video: Teacher Hitting Students Allegedly in Yerevan School

In what’s seemingly becoming a trend, a video posted on YouTube 4 days ago shows what appears to be a female teacher hitting various students in what is allegedly a middle school in Yerevan.

The video can be viewed here: http://www.epress.am/FVideo.aspx?vdid=66

According to information circulated in blogs and social media sites such as Facebook, the video was shot in No. 129 school in Yerevan and the teacher’s name is Lena Abgaryan.

Speaking with Epress.am, No. 129 school principal Tamara Petrosyan noted that the video has nothing to do with their school. According to Petrosyan, an old classroom is depicted in the video, while their school was fully renovated 3 years ago.

Furthermore, a teacher by the name of Lena Abgaryan was employed by No. 129 school; however, said Petrosyan, she left her job last year “for unfortunate personal reasons.”

The school principal also noted that she has not come across such acts in her experience.

Note that a similar video uploaded on YouTube drew much attention last week. That video, showing a teacher, Eduard Gevorgizov, hitting a student at the No. 8 Pushkin school in Yerevan, resulted in the dismissal of the teacher.
