SCADA System Introduced in Armenia

RA President Serzh Sargsyan was present in Yerevan today during the launch of the SCADA system in Armenia (SCADA stands for supervisory control and data acquisition).

According to information on the president’s official site, RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsissyan outlined for the president the importance of this system for Armenia’s energy sector, and the special projects in which it’s possible to optimize the production of electricity through power stations, to reduce losses and make accurate predictions and calculations on system stability. 

The supervisory control and data acquisition system will be implemented in a few stages. With the aim of implementing the first stage, a loan agreement was signed between the government of Armenia and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
