Turkey welcomes the adoption of the joint declaration by the presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia at the summit in the Russian city of Astrakhan, reports Anadolu Ajansi.
“We welcome the agreement on several humanitarian issues by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during the Astrakhan summit,” said Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Sunday.
“Turkey hopes that the Astrakhan Summit will make a positive contribution to the solution of the Nagrno-Karabakh conflict, and will breathe new life to efforts to resolve the dispute.
“We also want the steps taken on humanitarian issues to be supported by specific initiatives in other areas. Turkey will continue to fully support initiatives that can contribute to the formation of an agreement between the parties,” the Ministry added.
